A smile makeover patient of the practice
HomeSmile Makeover

The smile is designed before anything is touched.

A makeover is not a list of procedures. It is one design, covering shape, shade, lip line, gum symmetry and facial proportion, decided first, with whichever treatments are needed to build it.

The Approach

Prosthodontics is the specialty that does exactly this.

Most cosmetic dentistry is sold procedure by procedure: veneers here, a crown there, whitening to finish. The result is a smile assembled out of separate decisions, and it usually looks like one.

A prosthodontist is trained for three additional years in precisely the opposite habit: designing the finished result first, then working backwards to what has to happen to produce it. Which teeth get veneered, which get crowned, whether anything needs replacing at the root, and in what order.

The consultation is a full oral examination with imaging, and a conversation about what you actually want your smile to look like. Out of that comes a plan built around your facial aesthetics, lip and gum line symmetry, and the shape of your own face, not a catalogue shade.

The Tools

Five ways to get there. Most plans use two or three.

01

Porcelain veneers

Thin layers of custom porcelain bonded over enamel. The right answer for chips, cracks, gaps and deep discolouration in the teeth that show when you smile. Veneers in detail →

02

Dental crowns

Custom caps that slip over and bond to a natural tooth. Where a tooth is too damaged or too stained for a veneer to sit on, a crown rebuilds the whole visible surface.

03

Dental bridges

A run of crowns spanning adjacent teeth. State-of-the-art zirconia fixed bridges replace teeth lost or badly decayed, and behave like the natural ones beside them.

04

Professional whitening

In-office whitening, often finished in a single visit. Usually the last step, once the shade of everything else in the plan has been settled.

05

Dental implants

Where teeth are missing rather than damaged, the design has to start at the root. Implants carry the new teeth instead of the gum. Implants in detail →

Digital Smile Design

A free preview of the finished smile, generated from your own photographs and scans, before a single tooth is prepared. You approve the result in advance.

The Sequence

How a makeover actually runs.

01

Smile evaluation

A short evaluation establishes candidacy, produces a free Digital Smile Design preview, and puts pricing and options on the table, with time to speak to Dr. Nahlah directly.

02

Full examination & imaging

A complete oral examination with any scans needed, to find out what is achievable and what has to be treated before anything cosmetic begins.

03

The design

Shape, shade, proportion, lip line and gum symmetry are settled as one design. You approve it before preparation starts.

04

Build it

The treatments in the plan, in the order the design requires, with the in-house laboratory adjusting shade and fit in minutes rather than by post.
